Philip Higginson, MAICD FAIM Managing Director philip@proned.com.au Philip has extensive experience in senior management positions in the industrial sector with a strong association in manufacturing and mining including 30 years with a major global chemical company. Philip is also familiar with the workings of Government having extensive contacts with both major political parties. Philip has a clear understanding of issues within corporate boardrooms including governance and the relationships between CEOs and Boards. His qualifications are in marketing and management and he is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management and a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. An experienced company director and chairman, Philip currently sits on a number of boards and committees in government, private and charitable sectors covering industries such as energy, housing, arts, finance, publishing, & education. |

Dr Robert Barnes MA, MLitt, PhD, Hon.FAIBF, MAICD Principal - Melbourne Office rbarnes@proned.com.au After 14 years with ICI Australia Ltd (including five years in PNG), Robert spent 20 years as a CEO in the banking and chemical industries and in local government acquiring broad experience of industry practice at senior management and board level. He has worked in Melbourne for over 30 years and has developed an extensive network of business related contacts at senior levels. Alan Castleman Bcom, DipElecEng, FIEAust, FAICD Principal - Melbourne Office Alan Castleman is an experienced Chairman and Director of public and private companies, following an extensive career at BHP. For the last 13 years, he has been a professional Director, having served on more than 20 Boards - listed, non-listed, public, mutual, private and advisory. At Proned, Alan's focus is on Board reviews and strategic advice. Alan's early career was in engineering, followed by over two decades with BHP in financial and senior executive roles, including corporate, steel and joint venture activities. Simon Kelland Associate Director - Sydney Office With his background as a senior executive in both small and large organisations in the financial services sector, he has wide experience in developing and coaching executive teams and individuals to deliver growth in a compeititve business environment. Simon is passionate about helping people reach their full potential and his successful development of a number of high performing executive teams over the years count as his most satisfying experience in business.
As well as leadership and management positions, in the past 20 years Simon has worked in a variety of senior roles including strategic planning and business development, sales, product development, structured finance, risk management and relationship management. Such a variety of roles in a number of companies, each with a different culture and market position has given Simon deep insight into the realities of modern executive life - balancing the need to generate shareholder value with the need to build individual team leadership based on shared values whilst maintaining a healthy and common sense approach to life and work.
Simon is a Chartered Accountant, a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, a Trustee of the Committee for Economic Development of Australia, holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from the University of Tasmania and has completed executive programs at IMD in Switzerland and Stanford University Graduate School of Business in the USA. |

Dr Melinda Muth BSc, MBA, PhD Associate Director – Sydney Office melinda@proned.com.au Melinda has over 12 years experience as an organisation development specialist. She regularly speaks and consults on a variety of organisation development issues with both private and public sector organisations. She is a member of the Academy of Management, the Strategic Management Society and a Director of Indigenous Community Volunteers. She is an adjunct faculty member at AGSM where she earned her PhD for research on board structure and firm performance. In addition to her academic career, Melinda has worked with Deloitte as National Director of Business Development and Marketing for and during her tenure with the firm she was a finalist in the Telstra Businesswoman of the Year Award program. She has extensive experience in retailing and related industries both in Australia and the United States (David Jones, Neiman Marcus and Federated Department stores) as well as having successfully operated her own business in Australia for five years. |

Dr Juergen Ladendorf Associate - Sydney Office Dr Juergen Ladendorf is an independent consultant specialising in management process consulting and management education. He has held a professorship in marketing at Harvard Business School and has subsequently served as Corporate Senior Vice President and Member of the Chairman's Office at Gulf Oil Corporation and Norton Simon. Ladendorf's current consulting clients include WPP Group plc, PwC and Woods Bagot. He has served as advisor in the domain of organisational development and custome designed in-house executive education to Coca-Cola, Siemens, British Airways and Citicorp. He currently serves as Chairman of the board of of A-N-D Group plc. |
